Arm Bar Defense and Escapes

Arm Bar Defense and Escapes

I want to personally welcome you to this course, I'm super excited to share with you some things I learned through countless hours of practice over the last 22 years.

I started Jiu-Jitsu back in 1997 and I had never seen or experienced any form of fighting that was so effective and fun! I'm sure everyone here had a similar experience when you first stepped on the mat. For me it happened in the form of arm bars over and over... and over again!

What I learned that helped me the most, was to always fight for posture and make smaller more controlled movements. I call this, "Playing in the Opening and Fortified Movement".

Each lesson is filmed in a classroom environment, to make you feel as though you are in the class. I will walk you through one of my most effective arm bar defense systems in six separate modules.

Module 1 - Elusive Elbow
Module 2 - The Waiting Game
Module 3 - Shielding Arm
Module 4 - Latch and Hook
Module 5 - Watch the Grips
Module 6 - Perfect Pressure

If you put in the time to develop each skill outlined in this course I know you will get results! The only way to get good at Jiu-Jitsu is to stack up hours on the mat. I'm looking forward to being a part of your journey.

  • Module6_PrefectPressure

In this final module we are going to be looking at three preferred outcomes to not only defend the arm bar, but escape and pass the guard. I have been using this escape for decades!

    2. Framed armor escape and pass.
    3. Smash escape and pass.
